Artist's Comments

This was inspired by :icondawnish-dawn:, who drew a picture of 4 different versions of herself. I thought it would be rather interesting to capture 4 different years of my life in one picture like she did. So this is Chibi throughout the (recent) years.

7th Grade, ages 11-12: The one 2nd on the left, in all black. This is the youngest one. This Christina had the lowest self-esteem of any of these. She was constantly teased and harassed in school, and dressed in all black, almost kinda goth-like (yes, all the chains, pockets, and all that shit). She was confused and unsure of where she fit in, and was diagnosed with clinical depression after trying to kill herself. She was always angry, unpleasant, and had little to no friends. She drew in every class, even though she was terrible, and it's a surprise that she didn't fail.

8th Grade, ages 12-13: The one to the right of youngest Christina. This Christina probably had the most confidence of any of them. At first she started like 7th grade Christina, but then she made an attempt to change how she acted. This Christina was very girly and preppy, and shocked everyone when she chopped off half of her hair and changed from a middle to a side part. This Christina was an extreme weaboo, however, as she was just starting to learn Japanese. Totally obsessed with Naruto, and just starting to work on drawing. Fell in love with the 22 year-old student teacher in her math class. She's still battling weight problems, and was very overweight at the time, weighing up to 180 pounds.

9th Grade, ages 13-14: This Christina hit a bit of a growth spurt and is taller and skinnier than the other years of Christina. She made an attempt to be charming, cute, but tough and badass at the same time. Her self-esteem and confidence from 8th grade was completely lost, however, when Gym class rolled around. She turned into a quiet, sobbing mess that would cry almost every day after that class. Her drawing started to improve a bit, and this is the Christina that started Homebound. She fell in love with Zags after TAU was started, and she could think of nothing but him. She used loud, obnoxiousness to cover up her own self-hatred.

10th Grade, ages 14-15-today: The Christina on the very right. The tallest, prettiest, and skinniest of them. She made a vow at the beginning of the year to grow her hair out longer than ever, and her confidence soared after December of '08. She turned into a happy, confident wild and crazy girl with some of the best friends in the world. She is (almost) completely happy with herself, and is happy to look back and see that she's come a long way. She's a bit easier to deal with, and slightly more level-headed than any of her other past selves (even though it doesn't seem that way). She puts her friends before anything, and her drawing skills are improving quite a bit.

I've come such a long way since the scared, insecure little Christina of 7th grade. Looking back and reflecting on myself was quite a nice experience, and I have to thank the past Christinas for being the way they were, because if it weren't for them and the people around them, I wouldn't be who I am today. I wanted to write more about each Christina, but words just can't describe how I feel about each of them.

Hopefully you guys enjoy and appreciate this as much as I do.
